Bipolar

2 Timothy 1:7

For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.

Fear doesn't come from God; it really comes from the enemy itself. But sometimes fear can be placed on us when we are children because of physical, emotional, mental, and sexual abuse. We become fearful of the things that have hurt us, and from there we have developed in mindset Bipolar, Borderline Personality Disorder, and Post Traumatic Stress Disorder.  Each of these mental illnesses is caused when we go through something traumatic. Sometimes we need to go on medication to deal with these disorders to keep us balanced. Sometimes when we don't then we must try and stay together and function.  That is something that I know very well.  A functioning Bipolar person really doesn't function normally, their senses are over dramatized, and every mole becomes a mountain. When a person speaks to us, we may think they are putting us down, or calling us names, but we don't listen very well, we tend to listen the voices in our head that are telling us they are lying, or they are saying something different than what is being said. I have walked those steps.  The only way we can be whole is by either taking medication that puts our emotions in check and trusting in Jesus Christ. Jesus is the only person Who can heal our minds, and it is up to us to decide if we are going to follow Him or not.  We must make that decision, No one else can make that decision for us.  So, the next time you feel out of control, ask yourself this question. Am I hearing correctly?  Am I hearing what they are saying?  Am I hearing voices that are saying negative things to me?  When you are in a conversation, and you think they are saying negative things to you, say to them; "this is what I am hearing you say."  And they will rephrase so that you can understand correctly.  Don't let fear stop you from enjoying conversations with people, just make sure you are listening correctly.

When you look at the picture, my dad who is standing wearing a mustache dealt with depression and did nothing about it.  How many of those people in the picture have children and grandchildren suffering with Bipolar Disorder, or any kind of Mental Health Illness?
